The Director of Sales & Marketing leads the sales team in their sales and marketing initiatives of the hotel. Driving revenue growth and developing strategies to position the hotel as a top choice for business and leisure travelers. Responsible to drive top line revenues in assigned hotel with leadership, revenue management, and sales strategies. Serves as authority on sales processes, contracts, sales platforms, marketing efforts and liaison for hotel's collaboration Participates in the development of the hotel's business strategies Participates in the development and implementation of sales strategies that support achievement of the hotel's goals Provide leadership, onboarding, coaching and sales training to select sales managers Exemplifies excellent written and oral communication skills with all stakeholders, including ownership Achieves market share and revenue goals by directing the group, catering and banquet, negotiated/corporate/BT, and transient sales department strategies and personnel Maximizes revenue and market share Uses data and technology to analyze, approve and drive sales across revenue disciplines Develops and deploys sales and marketing strategies and personnel designed to maximize revenue opportunities and efforts Highly engaged participant in hotel's strategy team, driving yield management strategies for the hotel Interprets sales feeders/drivers to deploy all marketing strategies including paid advertising, trade show travel, social media plans and other customer engaging marking efforts Maximizing productivity while coaching sales team on sales techniques, optimizing sales tools and ensuring that sales & marketing strategies are aligned with the hotel's market share goals Develops yearly business plan, marketing calendar and budget with monthly updates on revenue and expenses in collaboration with the executive committee Develops, reviews and implements annual, quarterly and monthly sales goals for sales team which are aligned with the hotel's overall revenue goals Monitors call productivity and revenue goals for each team member by tracking results Participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotel which are aligned with Choice's overall mission, vision, values and strategies Develops, implements and leads strategies for achieving each individual's and overall team sales goals Creates and environment that provides employees with the tools, training and environment they need to deliver the service brand behavior and teamwork Communicates and reinforces the vision for customer service to managers, supervisors and associates Monitors status regularly and adjust strategies as appropriate Continually improve hotel sales and adheres to Choice brand standards Creates an environment that encourages that encourages employees to provide the service brand behavior hospitality and eamwork Develops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement Develops and recruits the human resources necessary to achieve hotel and Management Services' goals Directs the development and implementation of strategies and practices which support employee engagement throughout the hotel Oversees all facets of human resources management including the recruitment and selection, training & development, compensation, recognition and performance management of the work force Takes active role in recruitment and selection of qualified candidates Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with on-going feedback Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential Drives employee engagement through the creation and implementation of departmental action plans Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations. Responsibility #1 (75%): Directing and establishing sales goals, customer relationships, and marketing efforts that align with the monthly, quarterly, and annual forecast. Providing direction and coaching to team on meeting and exceeding deliverables. Responsibility #2 (20%) Providing exceptional communication to Executive Committee, Corporate and Ownership to ensure developments, goals and demands are being met as business needs evolve. Responsibility #3 (5%) Attend Networking events, participate in community involvement opportunities, and serve as a strong presence for hotel service and brand advocacy. Performs other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our Guests Requirements/Skills High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred Minimum five years sales management experience within hotel industry General knowledge of contract laws Experience managing owner relations Experience managing a team Able to resolve conflicts: guest, supervisor and associate Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork Ability to interpret and implement strategies based on reviews of STR, TravelClick/Kalibri Labs, GDS audits and online booking tools Expert computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Delphi and/or Opera, including catering and convention services deliverables Knowledge of hotel operations including; preparation of business plans, budget forecasting, quality assurance program, hospitality law, and long-range planning Ability for light travel Ability to model Choice's Cultural Values: Welcome and Respect Everyone, Be Bold, Be Quick, Listen, Be Curious and Show Integrity are key to our success in inspiring Loyalty, Growth, and the Hospitality Spirit.
