Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Jersey City, NJ, Plano, TX, and Chicago, IL. This is a 12+ month contract position.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for hands-on application development to support the current and target process, as well as partnering with the multiple Technology teams to implement the target architecture and migration to strategic platformClient, ingest, and incorporate new sources of real-time, streaming, batch, and API-based data into our platformLoading and managing large data in HadoopComputing complex logic in spark platforms
Requirements:
9+ years of experience in Java application development end to endBS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative disciplineStrong core java skills including multi-threading, collections API, JDBC and knowledge of Java profiling toolsExperience in using frameworks like spring, spring boot, JPA, HibernateStrong computer science fundamentals in design, data structures, and algorithmsKnowledge of performance tuning data intensive applications, expertise in performance profiling, ability to identify performance improvements and memory optimizationsExpertise of SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as data integration and transformation toolsStrong knowledge of big data technologies and frameworks, such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Apache Hive, or Apache FlinkSkills to optimize data pipelines and queries for better performance and scalabilityStrong problem-solving abilities and the capability to identify and resolve complex data engineering issuesLeadership and mentoring skills, as senior data engineers often lead and guide other members of the data engineering team.Excellent communication skills
Desired Skills:
5+ years of experience in Java UI technologies HTML5/Angular JS/Backbone JS/Bootstrap, etc.Degree from outstanding universityBackground in enterprise stress testingKnowledge of risk (credit, operational and market)Knowledge and/or experience working within the Hadoop or other big data distributed ecosystemKnowledge of cloud computing or distributed computingSoftware development in Agile environment
Pay Range:
$58.26-$66.26
