Job Title: Java Web DeveloperLocation: Skillman, NJ OR Chicago, IL - Hybrid (6x a month)
Get To Know The Team:
SS&C is seeking a Java Web Developer to join our Trade Thru Development Team. This person will design, develop and implement documented as well as verbal functional specifications. This person will provide support for applications deployed in the private cloud/network. Candidates will demonstrate problem-solving skills, readiness to collaborate with internal teams including development and business teams, and an ability to design solution fixes and either implement them or collaborate on the implementation. Successful candidates should possess strong technical skills and an ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Work in an agile environment with strong commitment to team goals.Understand the application logic and code.Exhibit strong debugging and analytical skills for resolving issues.Acquire knowledge in business domain and application flow.Coordinate on updates, understands issues & problems and takes initiative to resolve.Communicate clearly and effectively in written updates to the business on a daily basis.Review technical design, code and business documentation.Ability to document the code changes with quality and maintenance in mind.Creation of unit test cases, test data based on the user stories/requirements defined.Participate in walk-through, inspections, review meetings to learn about new features being deployed.What You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or related fieldMinimum 4-5 years equivalent work-related experience in a Full Stack Web Developer roleExperience with a few of the following would be preferred, along with the aptitude to learn the others: Java, JSP,JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, JQuery and Vue.js, HTML/CSS, NodeJS, and any other modern languages you may work inAdditional experience with SQL, YAML, XML, JSONExperience with modern source control tools such as GitHub, CVS or SVN.Exposure to Agile methodologiesExposure to automated testing, BDD (Behavior Driven Development)/TDD (Test Driven Development).Ability to determine root cause of end user reported issues/concerns and provide solutions to mitigate.Ability to be proactive, exercise appropriate judgement, and the ability to successfully meet deadlines.Knowledge of cloud fundamentalsUnderstanding of Web APIs/ Web ServicesA passion for continuous learning as well as the ability to learn quickly and apply new skillsIdentify opportunities for improvement in current processesA team player who communicates and collaborates well with others, both inside and across all related teams.Nice to Have
