Overview

Job Summary:

The Creative Director - Design & Construction will collaborate with our Design & Construction (D&C) and operational teams to define and enhance all elements of the brand experience. This role ensures consistency and brand integrity across all guest touchpoints, tapping into innovation and experimentation to establish an emotional connection between guests and the brand. Additionally, the Creative Director will focus on business development by selling services to ownership groups.

Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with Owners, Investors, and Developers, alongside Business Development (BD) and D&C teams, to assess existing and new hotel development opportunities and prepare a design vision to elevate guest experiences.Assist the Davidson team in developing pitch decks, ensuring that design sensibility and operational integrity are thoroughly contemplated. Support the team during presentations by addressing design narrative questions.Work with Project Directors on the RFP process, selection, and coordination with design consultants during conception, development, and execution phases to align with the planned design narrative and vision.Engage with design and architecture agencies to maintain alignment with the vision narrative and guidelines throughout all communications.Provide recommendations through sketches, testing space plans, offering improvement suggestions, and collaborating with consultants on ideas and strategies.Coordinate on-site reviews and check-ins during construction to ensure alignment with design goals.Leverage strong collaboration, leadership, and organizational skills to aid internal teams in achieving industry-leading design concepts.Draw on consumer research, monitor market trends, and understand the target guest and potential markets for each development opportunity.Ensure that innovative strategies and cutting-edge functions are implemented at each property.Conduct ongoing research and first-hand experiences of comparable hospitality venues to generate successful ideas for hotels, resorts, and restaurants.Work with the marketing team on initiatives, including articles in hospitality and design journals, websites, and social media.Coordinate services of specialty consultants, including lighting, art, branding, and purchasing agents.Collaborate with general managers, asset managers, and other owner entities to execute projects.Negotiate contracts on behalf of the project team.Participate in meetings at the Atlanta Corporate office for development pitches, quarterly D&C team meetings, and other required meetings.Business Development Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain relationships with ownership groups to identify and secure funding for new design projects.Create and deliver compelling presentations to ownership groups, showcasing the value and benefits of our design and construction services.Collaborate with the BD team to develop strategies for business growth and service expansion.Skills:

Research & Analysis:

Understanding of consumer needs and behavior, strong analytical ability to develop insights, review and provide comments on design milestone presentations, construction documents, and more.Interpersonal:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work cross-departmentally, run efficient meetings, communicate clear decisions, and possess good presentation skills.Management & Coordination:

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or an equivalent degree and experience.Minimum 10 years of experience in the lodging industry; experience with boutique, custom, or lifestyle type of hotels/resorts or mix of upscale restaurant + hotel experience.Knowledge of brand requirements and hospitality design, lodging, and real estate development.Proven business development skillsProficiency in Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Self-motivated, task-oriented, and capable of working independently.Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.Willingness to travel up to 50%.Benefits
