Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement Planning (403b), etc.JOB SUMMARY:The Grant Writer will write, edit, and format grant proposals, reports, and other funding deliverables to private and corporate foundations, both independently and in collaboration with program and fundraising staff. The Grant Writer reports to the Foundation and Corporate Grants Manager and is a member of the Development Department. This individual may additionally receive direction occasionally from the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Development.

ESSSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Work closely with the Foundation and Corporate Grants Manager to ensure that all written materials accurately reflect the agency's mission, policies, and programs in a compelling manner.2. Submit accurate and complete grant applications, letters of intent, reports, and other documents as directed by the Foundation and Corporate Grants Manager.3. Adhere to reporting requirements and submit timely, accurate reports to funders.4. Write appropriate and compelling narrative to be incorporated in proposals, grant applications, letters of inquiry, reports, frequently requested materials, fact sheets, and other revenue-raising materials.5. Collaborate closely with program staff to ensure proposals accurately reflect the organization's mission and programs and to gather information needed for proposals, applications, letters of intent, and reports.6. Develop and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of agency-wide activities and programs, including meeting with relevant program staff to regularly gather information.7. Attend meetings set forth by funders to obtain information about the requirements, process, etc. as necessary.8. Research and identify prospects and grant-making organizations, analyzing them to identify likely funding sources.9. Manage the grant application, letter of intent, and reporting deadline calendar.10. Attend Development Department fundraising events and fundraising meetings.11. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:1. 2-3 years relevant experience writing grants and/or proposals.2. Strong written communication skills.3. Strong knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising processes.4. Able to write and edit clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.5. Able to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and meet deadlines consistently.6. Able to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously.7. Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies.

PREFERRED

QUALIFICATIONS:1. Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge (or similar database) and prospect research tools2. Knowledge of fundraising information sources3. Hold a Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT;1. This role is primarily based in an office setting with occasional field visits.2. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.3. On occasion walk or drive to different local sites4. Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments5. Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor6. May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
