UX/UI DesignerRaleigh Durham, NCMedical Device : Surgical Technology : RoboticsUser Experience : Human Computer InterfaceTech Stack : Figma / Sketch / Smaply / Qt / Enterprise ArchitectOur client is a rapidly growing player in the meidcal robotics arena with a mission to digitizes the interface between the surgeon and the patient to improve minimally invasive surgery through digital laparoscopy.This AI enabled surgical robotic platform enables the use of advanced capabilities such as augmented intelligence, connectivity, and robotics in laparoscopy and seeks to address the current clinical, cognitive, and economic shortcomings in surgery.This new UI/UX role will be part of the Product Development (R&D) Team and will be responsible for shaping the user experience of our multi-screen medical device interfaces, integrating touch, voice, and other input devices.The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our marketing and clinical teams to translate ideas into user-centric design, contribute UI design, and direct others in the development of UI designs. This position requires a strong blend of technical and collaboration/communication skills.Key Responsibilites:Contribute to the design and development of UI/UX for multi-screen interfaces, including touch, voice, and other input devices.Collaborate with marketing and clinical teams to gather requirements and translate ideas into effective design solutions.Provide direction and support to a team of UI designers, ensuring high-quality design output.Work closely with the software development team to manage Figma files and ensure seamless handoff of assets for development.Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and make informed design decisions.Maintain and enhance design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all user interfaces.Required:Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.Experience (2-5 years) UI/UX design, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience managing a team of designers.Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, particularly Figma.Highly Desired:Figma, including Dev Mode for design transfer to SW devs. Another tool like Sketch would be fine as well, but we'll be continuing with Figma.Smaply, for user journeys and personas. Another tool or other experience supporting user journeys and personas would be fine.Qt: SW Dev framework for UI. Direct experience is not needed, but it is nice to have awareness of what can and can't be done within Qt.Enterprise Architect, for system modeling. Direct experience is not needed. Awareness of working within system models would be nice to have. Reading state machines and activity diagrams of complex systems would be a big bonus.
