Distribution Designer

National utility contractor specializing in Fire Risk Mitigation, Service Planning, field inspections, deteriorated poles, base mapping, electric vehicle charging station design, plot layout and design, Site Planning, and Permitting is seeking a Distribution Planner I or II join their team. The primary focus of the Planner will be to support Southern California Edison (SCE) distribution infrastructure projects.
The Distribution Planner will play a crucial role in analyzing, planning, and optimizing our utility infrastructure to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of services. You will collaborate with various internal teams and external stakeholders to develop short-term and long-term plans that meet regulatory requirements, support business objectives, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
Must possess 1 or more years of experience working in an electrical utility distribution service planning function
Experience with reading pole loading sheets and inputting information to SPIDA-CALC
A combination of formal education, training, and experience to gain knowledge, skills, and abilities generally equivalent to those possessed by a high school graduate
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of engineering principles, distribution design standards, construction standards, electrical service requirements, and industry practice.
Demonstrated experience determining scope of work, method of service, and construction methods for overhead and underground facilities
Preferred Skills:
AutoCAD
Pole loading/Wind Loading experience
Software: Spida-Calc and AUD
General Order 95 knowledge
NESC knowledge
Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, etc)
Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc)
Additional Info:
Pay Range: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour (Negotiable based upon experience)
Work Schedule: Hybrid
