Job Summary

Under the direction and supervision of a district Director, the TOSA (District Counselor) willwork with school counselors and College and Career Coordinators through supplementalsupport, professional development, on-site coaching to enhance Tier 1 learning opportunities, and effective instructional strategies to improve student college and career readiness. The TOSA (District Counselor) will focus on all aspects of support, professional development, and coaching on closing the achievement gap of all English Learners, Foster Youth, the Homeless, and underperforming student populations in the areas that impact the TUSD College and CareerIndex.

The TOSA (District Counselor) will provide District leadership in the assigned area(s) ofcollege and career readiness, and assist in the development and implementation of Districtcurriculum with an emphasis on the implementation of all current TUSD CCR Plan lessonsand frameworks, and the District's plan to expand and implement Dual Enrollmentopportunities for all students.

Requirements / Qualifications

Required Qualifications:1. Must have a valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential specializing in School Counseling with a Masters Degree. CBEST (or other qualifying basic skills requirement as outlined by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing) is required.2. Minimum three (3) years of successful school counseling experience with positive evaluations.3. Knowledge of and success in promoting school counseling techniques and creative approaches that result in improved support and services for all students.4. Successful experience in working with community colleges, university programs, and post-secondary career development partners.5. Commitment to and support of the District's curricular, instructional, and assessment system.6. Proven ability to effectively coach staff members in an embedded professional development setting.7. Experience in the planning and delivery of professional development based on student achievement data and adult learning needs.8. Experience working with students with learning difficulties, high-performing/GATE students, and English learners.

Desirable Qualifications:1. Possession of an Administrative Credential.2. Experience as a counseling intern mentor3. Expertise in creating and supporting the use of assessments that results in improved learning for all students.4. Broad knowledge of current educational practices.
