The Automation Design Manager is a senior level management position responsible for leading a team of Automation Design Analysts tasked with accelerating the transition from manual, sample-based testing of controls to automated, full-population testing across the Services, Markets and Banking businesses. The team is responsible for providing thought leadership in the technical design of control testing automation solutions, as well as overseeing the progression of automation requests across all phases of the deployment lifecycle (requirements grooming, design, development, validation, production deployment).This position reports to the Central Automation Solutions Utility Head and is both a strategic and execution-focused management position accountable for driving the advancement of control testing automation solutions. This is accomplished through robust data and analytics disciplines, standardized design/development processes, establishment of best practices and strong partnership/collaboration with Technology and the Control Testing Utility. The Automation Design Manager is an expert on data-based control and control testing digitization and automation techniques with great familiarity with existing and emerging technologies around data management and data analytics.

Responsibilities:Serve as technical subject matter expert in the tools and capabilities leveraged in the deployment of automated control testing solutions (SAS/SQL/Python development, low-code automation tools, etc.)Oversee the control testing automation pipeline, responsible for escalating any roadblocks and continuously forecasting the work effort.Proactively communicate control testing automation progress to Senior Leader stakeholders.Influence and negotiate with senior leaders and communicate with external partiesLead a team of Automation Design Analysts tasked with:

Serving as Automation Architects by translating business requirements into a technical design spec that can be easily executed against by the automation development team.Identifying the specific data sources, and underlying data elements, that will be used to automate control testing solutions (full-file control testing vs sample-based).Developing code (SAS, SQL, Python) to interrogate data sources (Teradata, Hadoop, SAS Grid, etc.) and validate starting population and exception logic.Producing a standardized, handoff package to document the technical requirements needed for accelerated code development.Formulating and defining scope and objectives for complex, high-impact automated control testing solutions and problem resolution through in-depth analysis and evaluation of complex business processes, systems and industry standards.

Qualifications:10+ years relevant financial services experience, 5+ years leading data analytics and/or automation initiatives, 5+ years in Risk & Controls experience, 5+ years of direct management experience.Knowledge of systems/data across Services, Markets or Banking businessesKnowledge of software development and automation tools, programming languages and best practicesProven record of achievement in leading an analytical team with discipline and process.Effective communication, written and presentation skills.Excellent people and relationship management skills with the ability to influence others and foster a sense of collaboration.Exemplary analytical and continuous improvement skills.Independent thinker and able to perform a credible challenge of businesses/functions.Demonstrates an ability to anticipate and react appropriately to important changes in the business direction and customer behaviors and preferences.Knowledgeable about how organizations work; knows how to get things done both through formal channels and the informal networkEducation:Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMasters degree preferred------------------------------------------------------Job Family Group:Technology
