The Rutgers School of Nursing seeks a highly qualified and experienced individual to tell the school's story externally and internally. The Director of Marketing and Communication (DMC) has responsibility for research-based messaging, marketing, brand identity and positioning activities, and overall marketing of the school to potential populations to enhance growth and sustainability. The DMC will serve as a lead content creator for the SON overseeing the development and design of public-facing materials that communicate key messages to target audiences.The Director reports to the Senior Vice Dean and serves as the school's Chief Marketing Officer.Among the key duties of the position are the following:

Develops deliverables related to collateral, thought leadership, proposals, monthly blasts, digital media, events, and industry rankings.Represents and promotes the School of Nursing while increasing its visibility and supporting its mission, vision, and goals.Leads the development and implementation of the school's vision, strategy, and marketing campaigns to create a distinct positioning and identity, attracts the best students, motivates alumni and donors, and recruits high-quality faculty and staff.Leads social media marketing efforts for the school including, but not limited to, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other platforms.Requires day-to-day team leadership with a focus on building a strong culture of collaboration and teamwork that relies on open and honest communication with clear lines of accountability.Works with school administration and academic programs administrators in an effort to coordinate the marketing activities of the individual units, divisions, and programs.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.7-10 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Certifications/LicensesRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge and understanding of current and emerging industry requirements and practices in the area of marketing expertise.Knowledge and experience in traditional as well as digital and social media marketing.Management experience in budgeting, fiscal management, research, and customer service.Strong verbal and written communication skills, professional presentation and organizational skills, as well as interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.The ability to develop and implement strategic communications and research-based marketing plans.Experience and ability to meet targeted marketing and enrollment goals.Expertise in making presentations and negotiating with the media is required.A commitment to working with diverse racial, ethnic, and multicultural populations.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree Strongly preferred.Knowledge of nursing or health-related field.
