Communications Manager - Advertising Business

Spotify is looking for a Communications Manager to join our Global Communications team. We are looking for someone who has experience in the media/entertainment/tech industry and a deep understanding of advertising, marketing, and youth culture.

In this role, you'll play a key role in driving awareness of our Advertising business priorities through integrated communications. We want someone who is creative, solutions-oriented and understands the ever-changing digital landscape.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with seasoned London-based Communications Manager as well as the Advertising Business Marketing team to develop innovative and impactful communications strategies that drive advertiser demand for Spotify's global advertising businessLead development and execution of campaigns for Spotify Advertising's newest revenue streams, branded live events and AUX, Spotify's in-house music advisory for brands, including on-the-ground supportCraft compelling press materials including media pitches, press pitches, talking points, briefing docs and much more in alignment with brand voice and objectivesBuild and maintain relationships with advertising, tech and marketing reporters, social media editors, thought leaders and influencers in the United States and CanadaCreate and sustain FOMO of Spotify's advertising offering among marketers, media buyers and business decision-makers globally through data storytelling, research, trends reports and case studies across earned, owned and socialStrengthen industry profiles of advertising sales and marketing leaders in the United States and Canada via press interviews, social media campaigns and speaking engagementsCo-manage U.S. based PR agency with clear prioritization, direction and ongoing guidance to deliver on communications goalsBe a communications counselor and adviser for the Advertising organizationPartner with international communications teams to identify opportunities to pitch proactive stories and secure media coverage globally that drives our narrative forwardSupport ad product communications as neededWho You Are

At least 6 years' relevant communications experience at a tech or media brand; in-house experience is preferredPossess exceptional writing and communication skills to craft compelling materials including media pitches, communication strategies, talking points and much more in alignment with brand voice and objectivesOwn existing and reliable relationships with industry journalists, influencers and thought leaders, with a proven track record of securing traditional and social media coverageDemonstrate a genuine passion for pop culture, tech, advertising, marketing and storytellingStrong knowledge of the industry including key players and trendsExperience with communications supporting a global company in a fast paced environmentProven ability to develop and implement integrated PR campaignsMotivated self-starter with hands-on attitudeExcellent writing skills and presentation skillsExcellent organizational skillsStrong project management and agency management skillsAbility to multitask and work in a hectic and extremely fast-moving industry and environmentCollaborative individual who enjoys partnering closely across teams and departments to create and distribute the most impactful communications possibleStrategic thinker and resourceful problem-solverAbility to balance evolving short- and long-term prioritiesEager to deliver original, out-of-the-box communications strategies and a willingness to color outside of the lines.Of course, an ever-enthusiastic representative of the Spotify brand!Where You'll Be

Hybrid role based in our New York or LA office (average 2 to 3 days a week required)

The United States base range for this position is $115,356-$164,794, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
