Description
Jasco is looking for an Assistant Graphic Design Manager that:Supervises the assigned graphic design team member(s) and manages the daily activities of the team.Establishes and communicates project timelines and milestones to ensure deadlines are met. Escalates urgent and past due requests.Trains new and existing graphics team members. Coordinates all aspects of new hire on-boarding and training of new team members. Recommends, identifies and coordinates training opportunities, as needed.Motivates, leads, and serves other members of the team in order to maintain high levels of teamwork and morale.Determines product needs and expedites all efforts to determine package type required, designing and production of packaging artwork, illustrations for product instruction, design and copy of point of purchase displays, providing photo direction on internal and off site photo shoots. Works closely with copywriter, language translators, photographers, printers and product suppliers. Provides artwork Q.C. of new item shipments.Communicates with Far East office on various issues on a regular basis.Assists in the preparation of trade shows including signage, mock-ups and promotional materials.Design merchandising materials to include racks, headers, stickers, sales brochures, counter cards or signage.Provides sales support for sales call preparation to include design and production of mock ups and display materials.Assists with and produces internal company needs including design and production of related meeting materials, various department forms, corporate materials, etc.Organizes retention of art files and materials.Design enhanced imagery for use on e-commerce websites that combines graphic elements and product photography.May act as backup to Graphic Design Manager when absent.Performs other related duties as required.Qualifications
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in the area of graphic design or related field is required.A minimum of three years experience in Apple Macintosh usage is required.Additional training in marketing, retail and/or merchandising is a plus.
Knowledge of artwork, graphic design and production, printers, consumer electronics products, and photography.Skills in Apple Macintosh computers, and graphic design.Ability to be flexible, manage multiple projects simultaneously, be creative, detail oriented, and work well with other Team Members.Ability to proof and read artwork, instructions, surveys, samples, packaging, and literature.Ability to write copy for literature, instructions and packaging, correspondence and presentations.Must be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
