Job Description

The Graphic Designer will be challenged in designing and promoting Well-Being and Recreation, Counselling and Psychological Services to the OHIO population and the surrounding Athens community. The primary responsibility of this position is creating the design and layout of various promotional materials such as banners, posters, flyers, newspaper advertising, e-mail templates, T-shirt designs, facility signage, and various print materials. The Graphic Designer will work closely with program and facility directors as well as student staff in the Care and Well-being area to align the vision of each program and facility with the brand standards of Well-being and University Communications and Marketing.

Responsibilities:• Design marketing materials for Well-Being and Recreation, Counselling and Psychological Services including banners, brochures, flyers, forms, digital displays, newspaper ads, tickets, programs, etc.• Distribute promotional materials as necessary• Work with Ohio University Printing Services to complete printing jobs• Collaborate with University Well-Being and Recreation student marketing staff and other facility, program and student directors to develop marketing concepts and materials• Represent Campus Recreation at university resource fairs• Other duties as assigned by Supervisors, Graduate Assistants and Professional Staff• Align each program and facility with the brand standards of University Communications and Marketing

This position works 10 hours per week during the academic semesters. Some summer 2024 employment may be available.

Minimum Qualifications• Current Ohio University student in good standing• Complete understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop• Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Marketing, Advertising or related major• Effective communication and stress management skills• Professionalism in dealing with customers and co-workers• Possess time management and organizational skills, work ethic and initiative• Basic understanding of the Well-Being area, either via employment, participation or courses strongly recommended

Preferred Qualifications• Basic multimedia production and web edit skills
