Ensure students have access to books and materials needed for school assignments and researchShelve and maintain books and materialsAssist with the supply of books and materials for promotional reading programs throughout the years including RAH, RIF, EBL, and Book-ItEnsure the physical upkeep of the media center is neat and organized, including straightening shelves, and arranging displaysComplete required paperwork including book orders and overdue/lost noticesMaintain a comprehensive and efficient system for cataloging all media center materials and instruct teachers and students on use of the systemAssist students in the skills related to reading, research, production of materials, and use of information technologiesPromote life-long learning by fostering positive attitudes toward librariesAssist users in identifying, locating, and interpreting informationPromote appropriate conduct of students using media and other facilitiesPromotes the library media program, services, and materials by maintaining a positive relationship with students, staff, and the communityPerforms all other tasks and duties as assignedRegular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this positionWORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of this job:

Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency), plus one of the following: Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, or pass a district administered assessment test.One year of general clerical experience; experience working with children in an academic setting a plusDemonstrated knowledge of current literature, trends, methods, and developments in the area of media and instructional technologyDemonstrated ability to use common audio-visual materials, equipment, and computer technologyAssist with the supply of books and materials for promotional reading programs throughout the years including RAH, RIF, EBL, and Book-ItEnsure the physical upkeep of the media center is neat and organized, including straightening shelves, and arranging displaysDemonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing worldDemonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession
