Holy Family Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Media Specialist to join our team. The Media Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience of our students by managing our school's media center and facilitating the integration of technology into the curriculum. This position involves working collaboratively with teachers to support student learning, promoting literacy, and fostering digital citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Management of Media Center: Maintain and organize the school's media center, including selecting, cataloging, and managing a diverse collection of print and digital resources.

2. Curriculum Integration: Collaborate with teachers to integrate media literacy into the curriculum, providing support and resources to enhance student learning.

3. Instructional Support: Facilitate weekly media literacy instruction for students, teaching them how to critically evaluate and use various forms of media.

4. Promotion of Literacy: Develop and implement programs to promote reading and literacy among students, including author visits, book clubs, and reading challenges.

5. Digital Citizenship: Educate students on responsible and ethical use of technology, promoting digital citizenship and online safety.

6. Professional Development: Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in media literacy, technology integration, and library science through professional development opportunities.

7. Community Engagement: Collaborate with parents and the broader community to promote the role of the media center in supporting student learning and literacy development.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in library science, Education, or a related field

- Experience working in a school library or media center setting, preferably in a Catholic school environment.

- Strong understanding of media literacy concepts and technology integration strategies.

- Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
