We are excited to welcome a talented Designer/Illustrator to our team, who will play a crucial role in enhancing our visual brand and creating compelling content for our new community at the Bletchley Institute.

As a Designer/Illustrator at Flatiron School, you will be instrumental in crafting visual content that captures Bletchley Institute's brand essence and engages our community. You will work closely with the VP of Product and the creative team to produce various visual assets, including marketing materials, web interfaces, event branding, and original illustrations. Your work will be central to creating an engaging visual experience across our website, swag, and other collateral. We want you to help us make awesome stuff!Key Responsibilities:

Design Collateral:

Develop visually appealing marketing materials such as brochures, posters, social media graphics, and swag.Brand Design and Management:

Establish and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all visual content.Event Branding:

Design creative visuals for our events to engage and attract our community members.Illustration:

Create original illustrations for various projects, including event branding, website visuals, and product marketing.Collaborative Creativity:

Work closely with the creative team at Flatiron School to brainstorm and execute innovative ideas for product and marketing content.Interface Design:

Collaborate with our web developer to design user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing web interfaces.General Visual Creativity:

Apply your creative skills to enhance the overall visual experience of the Bletchley Institute brand.Qualifications:Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience in graphic design, illustration, or a related field.Design Skills:

Mastery of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch, Figma, or similar tools.Portfolio:

A strong portfolio showcasing your design and illustration skills.Creativity & Communication:

Ability to think creatively and translate concepts into visual representations. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.Attention to Detail:

High level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.Time Management:

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Preferred Qualifications:Web Design:

Experience with HTML/CSS and understanding of responsive design principles.Animation:

Basic animation skills for creating dynamic visuals.Community Engagement:

Experience working within a community-focused organization or event branding.Technical Skills:Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)Familiarity with design tools like Sketch, Figma, or similarBasic knowledge of HTML/CSSExperience working in Jira a plusExperience working in Slack is a plusExperience with animation tools is a plusExpected Compensation:$75K-$95K
