Summary:Our Level 1 Truss Designers read architectural prints to help create roof and floor truss placement layouts. Ensuring the accuracy of drawings are produced accurately and timely based off blueprints provided by customers. Requires the knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices within the construction industry. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary for this position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates design illustrations based on blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication. Completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly.Evaluates designs to ensure that design standards are being met.Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting design of the wall, truss and engineered wood components.Communicates with production teams, customers and Store Managers to ensure designs are accurate throughout the process. Assists stores in responding to questions/concerns from customers.Qualifications & Requirements
:
**MITEK experience and S.E. trained is preferred**
Knowledgeable in the basic aspects of constructionPrevious experience using truss design softwareHigh level of knowledge in the application of the products being designedCompetency in basic mathematics, geometry and trigonometryKnowledgeable in reading architectural and structural plansAbility to analyze, trouble shoot and problem solveStrong verbal and written communication skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
Education/Experience
:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Prior estimator or work order writing experience is helpful.

The Building Center leverages its sizable regional presence to purchase and sell branded commodity products at competitive market prices. Inventories are maintained and managed to meet the needs of individual markets, regional building practices, and metro architectural trends.

This level of ready product availability and service includes truss plants in north and central North Carolina and millwork/door shops in both the Triad and Charlotte metro locations. Additionally, custom millwork and prefab components are built-in Pineville, which also sources and fabricates exotic wood products like reclaimed lumber flooring, siding, cabinetry, and mantles.
