Description

An Associate Product Designer assists in creating visual representation for existing and new screens across the Paycom system. They work closely with their team members and Team Lead to produce quality Paycom standard mockups.

RESPONSIBILITIESTranslates design to layout, typography and visual hierarchyDesigns new components or patterns to the existing design systems and style guides to ensure a consistent Paycom experience for usersPartners closely with product and development teams to support design strategyFollows existing design systems and style guides to create mock-ups that ensure a consistent Paycom experienceUses research data, design principles, or other objective information to support and promote design decisionsParticipates in usability testing and utilize usability data reports in designs.Contributes to the Design team by participating in design-led projects and discussions.Learns and executes already established design processes and frameworksWorks with Team Lead to navigate team and cross-department communicationPractices presentation and written communication skillsShares work early and often, seeking out constant feedback from Team Lead, PMs, Devs, and other stakeholdersWorks closely with their Team Lead to prioritize workload and deadlines and follows Team Leads design directionWorks with Team Lead or Design Mentor to solve complex issuesSeeks out feedback from Senior leadership to grow skillsAssists with special projects as neededQualifications

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma/GEDExperience:

0-2 years' experience in design, including multi-platform application, product, graphic design, digital media or relatedPortfolio required for review upon interviewPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in art, computer science, or technical field or equivalent practical experience in application or product designSkills/Abilities:

Base knowledge in layout, typography, visual hierarchy, basic design principles, composition, and color theory.Ability to create original, imaginative, and creative designs dependent on the project assignedSome familiarity with user flows, cross-platform and information architectureBasic understanding of HTML and CSSAble to communicate effectively within the teamMobile Interface Design across multiple operating systemsAbility to adapt to new programs as technology updates and changesPossess high aesthetic sense for User InterfaceOrganized and Detail OrientedAbility to manage multiple tasks while maintaining organization and timely completion of projectsSuperior interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various departmentsAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written formSelf-directed with the ability to work with little supervisionFlexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligation
