Job Description:

LongLeaf Truss is seeking a Design Associate to join our team of construction professionals. As a Design Associate, you will play a crucial role in the design process, collaborating closely with our GM, Sales Team, and clients to create accurate and efficient designs. Your meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in design software, and structural expertise will ensure the successful execution of our construction projects. You must read architectural prints to create roof and floor truss placement layouts conforming to current Company design practices.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with the GM and Sales Team, ensuring seamless communication and understanding of project requirements.Receive building plans from the Sales Team and thoroughly analyze them to identify necessary design and material specifications.Efficiently and accurately design trusses using MiTek Design Software (or Alpine), ensuring swift completion and delivering plans promptly to the GM and Sales Team.Engage in proactive communication with clients to understand their needs, clarify design aspects, and ensure precise and satisfactory outcomes.Adhere strictly to quality standards and best practices in truss design.Print Truss Plans and Send out roof and floor truss quotesProcess purchase ordersCreate delivery packs for job orders and Maintain delivery scheduleSend completed drawings and layouts to customers and Maintain plan filesDesign of roof and floor trusses in engineering software ensuring designs are accurate, optimized, and conforms to the current P&P. Also specifying all necessary supplied hardwareMaintain complete and updated Job Tracking SheetSend approval letter to customers according to P&P procedures when necessaryProvide sales and customer support when necessaryEnsure all plans are logged properlyAttend required meetings and participate in committees as requested by supervisor(s).Qualifications:

Exceptional attention to detail, precision, and a meticulous eye for design aesthetics.Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, possessing a deep understanding of structural components, load-bearing considerations, knowledge of floor and roof truss design process.Strong math skills including, but not limited to architectural units, fractions, geometry, and basic trigonometry are preferred.Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and clients, ensuring clarity and satisfaction throughout the design process.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines while upholding quality standards.General knowledge of construction industryAbility to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprintsAbility to operate a computer and current software used by company Knowledge of current local codes associated with truss design (i.e. TPI, UBC).Associates degree in architecture, design, engineering, or a related field preferred.Alternatively, a minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial and residential design is required.Ability to read and interpret PDF prints and architectural drawings accurately.Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar programs.Benefits:
