Designer
you will be responsible for working collaboratively with our Plans Department to produce accurate and timely plan design revisions and changes for the Simplicity Homes and Hayden Homes teams as needed.
Responsibilities Include:Releases:
Responsible for making requested custom changes and the assembly of plans and all supplemental documentation per custom home release. Drafts all aspects of residential design, reviews, redlines and completes changes for modified plans. Read, understand and apply the International Residential Code (IRC) and the Oregon Residential Specialty Code (ORSC) to maintain code compliant plans for numerous jurisdictions.Site Plans:
Manages CAD and electronic files of plats & civil construction drawings to create individual site plans per home release. This includes ensuring content matches recorded plat and civil drawings and verifying plan orientation, options and jurisdictional requirements.Plan File Management:
Responsible for minor plan updates in CAD, plotting of plan sheets, and integration into plan management systems.Community Lot Fits:
Responsible for assisting with the completion of home footprint fits on individual lots by community as needed to support the Drafting Manager by working with the regional land development teams ensuring jurisdictional requirements are met.How You Will Succeed:

Education:High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience requiredDrafting Degree, Drafting Certificate, or similar degree strongly preferred.
Specialized Knowledge:Working knowledge of current IRC & ORSC codes and prescriptive bracing methodsExtensive working knowledge of the construction process, terms and building components of residential buildings.
Skills:Proficient in AutoCADProficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook and Excel
Abilities:Ability to read and interpret construction documents and demonstrate a working knowledge of the construction process, terms, Jurisdictional requirements, and building components of residential buildingsExceptional organizational skills and the ability to attend to detailsAbility to receive, execute, and communicate ideas effectively along with strong interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written skills.Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience:Min 5+ years of previous work experience in AutoCAD-related drafting (architecture, residential design or civil/structural engineering).Min 5+ years hands-on experience and proficiency in AutoCAD strongly preferred.Industry experience in Construction/Home Building strongly preferred.
