Description The College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Graphic Arts Designer. About the Opportunity This entry-level position is an opportunity for a self-directed, and motivated individual to create compelling marketing and communications through creative visual content for recruitment materials, magazines, press releases, videos, social media campaigns, InfoStations, environmental graphics, and other methods of marketing and communications for the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. The candidate is expected to produce professional work for publication under the guidance of the director of marketing and communications. This position will develop, create, and disseminate high-quality marketing and communications content promoting the success of Statler College students, faculty, and alumni. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in storytelling strategies, through visual elements of graphic design, illustrations, video production, and producing effective social media visual messaging, with knowledge of written content for communications and familiar with HTML and coding languages. Wellness programs Pay Grade: 15 What you'll do: Design marketing and communication materials in the form of print and digital pieces to support recruitment, development, department programs that target internal and external audiences, including but not limited to magazines, brochures, flyers, sell sheets, programs, social media graphics, InfoStation graphics, videos, web graphics and PowerPoint presentations, etc. while following the WVU brand Create illustrations to tell stories visually in lieu of photography Create appropriate multimedia content to highlight success stories about the College's students, faculty, and alumni through social media platforms Produce videos for use on all digital platforms Update the College's website content using CleanSlate content management system Meet with faculty, staff, and students to discuss goals and vision for visual elements projects Support marketing needs for recruitment, enrollment, and development Qualifications Bachelor's degree in graphic design or media arts-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
