JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (PA SNAP-Ed) in the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State is seeking an Application Designer . The final applicant will manage our online reporting system. This includes planning, implementing, and testing new functionality and overseeing development efforts as follows:

Assess the needs of stakeholders for system enhancements.

Develop specifications for new or revised functionality.

C oordinat e development efforts with web developer.

D evelop and execut e test plans and protocols and maintain the testing library.

Develop ad hoc reports to support testing efforts.

P ost and track bugs in the release management system and oversee debugging efforts.

Maintain test environments and assist in deploying new releases to p roduction (may require limited weekend and/or evening work).

I nitiate, oversee, and test data transfers according to standards established by the Data Analyst.

With the Data Analyst , prepare the web developer’s annual work plan . Revi ew web developer’s task summaries and time records.

Meet with unit staff daily to discuss progress , priorities, and bl ocking issues.

Develop training videos, prepare knowledgebase articles, and provide second-level support to users.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher, plus one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Information:

This is a limited-term staff position, funded for six months from the date of hire, with excellent possibility of renewal.

Work Schedule:

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
