The successful candidate will do the following:

Ensures accomplishment of the delegated mission of the design and construction teams as relevant to project assignments, including accomplishment of strategic goals in accordance with Great Parks' Comprehensive Master Plan, Park & Facility Master Plan, strategic plan and initiatives.

Coordinates, reviews, and approves work and services performed by professional architecture, engineering, landscape architecture and surveying firms or peer professionals, such as construction drawings and specifications for, buildings, decks, docks, shelters, and other park structures.

Prepares construction plans, contract documents, technical specifications, preliminary and final construction cost estimates, technical and feasibility.

Communicates and manages relationships with internal and external project stakeholders. Addresses stakeholder concerns and feedback in accordance with Great Parks' strategic goals and fosters positive relationships with stakeholders throughout assigned projects.

Ensures compliance of design and construction with relevant laws, regulations, industry standards and best practice. Assures projects obtain necessary permits and approvals.

Identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks to safety, project budget, and schedule in consultation with division leadership.

Prepares, reviews, approves, and coordinates technical information to obtain permits from governmental authorities.

Supports Great Parks' construction team in assigned projects' construction phase by providing design clarifications and assistance in on-site observation, problem resolution, change order negotiation, and quality assurance.

Authors and maintains project documentation, including maintenance of project schedule, budget, project progress, and goal achievement per agency reporting standards. Maintains organized and accessible digital project records, documentation, correspondence, contract documents, and permits.

Assists in the coordination, review, and approval of agreements, permits, and construction activities undertaken by state, county, municipal, or private enterprises that impact park district property and interests.

Maintains responsibility for administration of development/improvement budgets. Prepares purchase order requisitions, reviews and approves invoices from material and equipment vendors, engineering consultants and contractors.

Maintains oversight of Great Parks' critical infrastructure, such as buildings and building systems in coordination with other division professionals, as assigned.

Maintains organized and accessible records for assigned critical infrastructure categories, including as-built drawings, service and maintenance records, and equipment records.

Determines maintenance needs for assigned critical infrastructure categories, including creating a program of preventative maintenance.

Determines inspection needs for assigned critical infrastructure categories and performs and/or coordinates regular inspections.

Maintains database of assigned critical infrastructure categories and their associated infrastructure.

Works with Great Parks colleagues and contractors to ensure inspections, maintenance items, repairs, renovations, and replacements of assigned critical infrastructure categories are completed to meet industry standards.

Develops training programs as required for staff performing inspections and work orders, including safety trainings, of assigned critical infrastructure categories.

Per the results of the regular inspection program, develops recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement of assigned critical infrastructure categories.

Assists in the implementation of the Comprehensive Master Plan by preparing multi-year plans for major renovations and life cycle replacement of assigned critical infrastructure categories for capital committee consideration and incorporation into capital forecasting.

Consults directly with the division leadership on matters regarding Park District objectives, including regulatory, technical, administrative and managerial issues involved in the planning, design, and construction of park development projects.

Provides technical advice or direction relating to architectural.

Carries out special assignments and tasks delegated by division leadership.

Exhibits regular and punctual attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree in architecture, or related field required

5-8 years' experience as a project manager in the design of a variety of municipal or related building projects

Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

State Driver License that meets current GPHC carrier guidelines.

PREFERRED LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION

Registration as an Architect (RA) in the State of Ohio or demonstrated ability to achieve this registration within one year of hire.
