Our team designs, develops and maintains massively scaling technology solutions brought to life with innovative architectures, data analytics, and digital solutions.Job overview and responsibilitiesThe Senior Designer – UX will help lead the design and definition as a key contributor to United’s Core UX team, responsible for integrating human-centered practices in unpacking and improving the digital customer experience across all stages of the travel journey. The Core UX team supports defining United’s digital product strategy and providing the leadership to complete that strategy with the help of a cross-functional portfolio teams. We’re looking for an empathic, passionate curious designer who celebrates delivering high-quality solutions and thrives for innovation in a collaborative environment.Create sketches, prototypes, wireframes, screen-flow diagrams & UI specs for testing and developmentRapidly iterate on design prototypes and working applicationsThoughtfully articulate design decisions and rationaleDesign direction should be based on the overall product roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principlesCollect and apply qualitative and quantitative data from usability tests and business analytics to make value-driven design decisionsAssist with QA to ensure designs are implemented accurately and with the highest standardAssist with validating and measuring user experience success via usability testing and post deployment evaluationsProvide guidance and mentor junior designersUnited Airlines is an equal opportunity employer. United Airlines recruits, employs, trains, compensates, and promotes regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical ability, age, veteran status, and other protected status as required by applicable law.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred (Human-Computer Interaction, information design, communications, Computer Systems, etc.)Portfolio examples of sketches, workflows, interactions, and end state workUp-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies3+ years of experience in UI/UX designProficiency using UX and protyping tools (Axure, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, InVision, etc.)Experience with WCAG accessibility standardsProven effectiveness in working as a member in cross-functional teams which include business analysts, designers, researchers, developers, and product ownersExperience with Agile and/or lean philosophy and methodsDesign experience for both web and mobileAbility to create wireframes as well as visual design compsA user-centered approach in design perspective and practiceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPositive attitude and be able to work effectively in a teamStrong sense of accountability and drive to get resultsHigh attention to detail but able to work quickly to meet deadlinesAbility to solve problems creatively and effectivelyMaintain a user-centered approach in design perspective and practiceMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionPreferred
