DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND BRAND STRATEGY

California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator II position.

The Position

:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategic Communications, the Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy is to lead initiatives that elevate the image and reputation of California State University, Los Angeles. The Director will craft a comprehensive marketing and branding strategy, positioning the university as a vital contributor to the Los Angeles region's economy, culture, and civil Society. Working with a team of creative professionals, the Director will develop compelling content for diverse audiences, including students, staff, faculty, alumni, community members, civic leaders, donors, prospective students, and their families. Leveraging the team's combined digital marketing expertise, the Director will manage the universities' online presence and develop targeted marketing campaigns in collaboration with other departments. The Director will oversee brand management, ensuring consistency across channels. As the lead expert on the university brand, the Director will ensure a presence across online and offline platforms that advances university goals and complies with regulatory standards. In the Executive Director, the incumbent assumes all responsibilities for the operation of the Office of Strategic Communications. The Director further supports media relations as needed.

Required Qualifications & Experience

:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Communications, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field. Five years of professional experience, including at least one year in a management role. Experience crafting strategies for web, social media, and publications; in management of writing, graphic design, and web design. The incumbent must have strong proofreading and editing skills. The incumbent must have the ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and discretion, and thrive in a multi-ethnic environment; and to act decisively under stressful situations. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current California State University employees who may apply for the position.

Compensation

:

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $4,812 - $15,449/monthly. Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $11,000 - $11,667/Monthly. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Appointment

:

The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
