For partners, we provide a full-stack platform for businesses to amplify growth and drive more meaningful connections across advertising, search and media.Position OverviewThis role will work across the Communications team and partner with our Marketing team including Brand and Yahoo Creative Lab (social, influencers, brand activations) . In this role, you'll lead on creating and executing break-through earned media strategies that amplify key initiatives across Yahoo from product-focused news, to brand and creative campaigns, to culture-driving stunts, consumer activations, and more.You are a creative thinker with a bias for action and hold a deep bench of strong media relationships. You can take a campaign idea or product launch, build a creative earned extension, and land that story with press. You're comfortable taking big shots on goal, know how to propose and execute a project and have a proven track record of landing top tier earned media coverage.This role reports to the Vice President of Consumer Communications and works across various Yahoo brands and properties.Responsibilities:

Amplify Yahoo brand activations and key consumer products through earned media pitching, initiatives, and programsWork across the Communications organization as a media relations lead liaising directly with media across a variety of beats acting as a spokesperson for the business proactively and reactivelyManage media opportunities related to Yahoo brand work and work with Yahoo Creative Lab on key buzzworthy momentsDevelop and implement a framework for providing strategic communications input and counsel to the Marketing and creative teamsConcept and execute earned-media activations and media relations programs at various scaleManage an agency partner and project manage key proactive moments

Qualifications:

10 years of relevant experience in an agency or in-house roleIdeal candidate will have experience working within the consumer technology space and have their finger on the pulse of culture and how brands are showing up across social media and brand marketingExperience working with brand partners, influencers, and proven track record of success with broad scale earned communications campaignsStrong organizational and project management skills; clear and strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute successful communications strategiesHave a proven track record of leading earned communications initiatives and landing top tier media coverageMust work well under deadlines and have a strong ability to manage multiple projects at once

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
