Description:

As the Mechanical Design Manager, you will provide technical leadership to a team of engineering professionals designing and updating subsystems for the company’s next generation of UniMelt plasma reactor technologies. In this role you will lead a strong team of engineers with a range of experience in CAD design, FEA, detail drawings, GD&T, and other advanced engineering design methodologies. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the company’s success through deployment of designs with an emphasis on cost reduction and performance improvement.

Responsibilities:

With objective based assignments, assign resources to meet schedules and goals.Lead the effort to standardize processes for design, drawings (including P&ID’s), and project execution.Administer the company PLM system and drive adherence to the change process.Mentor and develop talent, to effectively apply engineering principles, for design and analysis of a variety of disciplines including:Mechanical DesignGas and Water Flow SystemsHeat TransferFEA and other Analysis ToolsSolid Works CAD and PDMCompliance with Industry Standards Including ASMEUtilize project management tool to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects for team, including balancing resources to support an aggressive growth plan.Administer the ECR/ECO process utilizing PLM tool in coordination with PDM management of CAD files and BOM’s.Mentor and Coach team members to develop their competencies and confidence. Provide frequent review of their goals, progress, and performance.Successfully interact with peers, stakeholders, customers, and company leadership.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (MSME preferred)Minimum five (5+) years successful experience leading mechanical engineers.Solid foundation in engineering principles and analytical techniques, with the ability to mentor others.Expert knowledge of mechanical drawings for fabrication and assembly utilizing ASME Y14.5.Thorough understanding of P&ID’s.Strong Knowledge of Solid Works utilizing a PDM tool.Experience developing processes and driving compliance to those processes.Experience with document revision control utilizing a PLM tool.Strong Communication and Analytical skills. Highly skilled at using data to influence strategic decisions.Demonstrated ability to think strategically, while driving day to day tactical execution.

Travel:

Limited domestic travel.
