Prime Video is searching for a talented & experienced Group Creative Director to manage 360° marketing campaigns for our streaming service in the U.S. As our Head of Creative, they will lead the team in the creation and execution of Prime Video brand marketing, including brand campaigns, mid-funnel multi-title creative, emerging audience creative, TVOD and FAST creative—across linear, digital, on-platform, social, out of home, and events. The GCD/Head of Creative will work in partnership with the Strategy, Media, and Ops team to bring the insights, campaign strategy, and comms plan to life in breakthrough assets and earned media partnerships, as well as work closely with the Amazon Studios title marketing team to deliver best-in-class marketing assets & content. Additionally, they will oversee on-platform marketing CDs and designers to evolve and elevate the in-app marketing in close partnership with the Product design team and the Global Brand team.

The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of entertainment or brand marketing, has worked across channels and platforms in motion and static media, approaches visual storytelling with high levels of craftsmanship. They have an elevated design ability, typographic skills, AV/film experience, excellent copywriting skills, and digital expertise. They have a bold portfolio of exciting on-strategy creative that meets measurable business goals and requirements. They seamlessly toggle between doing it themself and directing others, including outside partners. They present concepts and creative strategy across all levels of leadership and drive excitement and buy-in with stakeholder teams to drive results. They expertly manage multiple projects, a large volume of stakeholders, and have vast experience building and growing creative teams.

The role will be required to be present in the office at least 3 days a week and whenever there are tentpole events or other priority initiatives. The GCD will report to the Director, U.S. Streaming Creative and Production and will lead a team of 6+.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead an internal team of CDs, designers, and writers to craft comprehensive creative briefs that apply the overarching brand strategy, audience insights, campaign objective, and customer journey to a creative approach that’s unique to the particular campaign-- providing clear direction, visual inspiration, style guides, and creative big idea thought-starters.

• Present briefs to leadership and partner teams for alignment before the work begins.

• Have a vast knowledge of external creative agencies and engage them with a brief, overseeing and directing tissue sessions, and reworking/guiding creative decks. Present decks to leadership, as well as encouraging direct reports to present.

• Work as a hands-on maker to design and write static comps, motion/AV rough cuts, scripts, as well as direct post production creative choices of voiceover, music, vfx, animation and more.

• Work cross functionally to be aware of shifting design needs/styles in Product UI, Sports, Studios, and Partners in order to constantly innovate and refresh.

• Track the performance of the assets made, along with learnings, and creative best practices for each platform.

• Work hand-in-hand with the Head of Production and the Head of Editorial to insist on the highest standards and create consistency across all assets.

Basic Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience as a Creative Director and leader of creative teams

• Deep, valuable contacts in the creative industry

• Fluency in video and static tools and specs

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to creative-direct photography shoots, motion shoots, and a knowledge of on-set production

• Proficiency in Adobe Suite, and/or Premiere, Power Point, and potentially Figma

• Strong organizational skills to communicate creative approach, track progress against that approach, and ensure that the work is delivered on time and to standards.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with examples of navigating matrixed organizations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $274,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
