The Behavioral Health Art Therapist is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, development, implementation, and revision of treatment programs as necessary. The Behavioral Health Art Therapist is also responsible for providing Art Ttherapy to psychiatric patients throughout the lifespan and able to provide age-specific direct care/services to this population. In addition, the Behavioral Health Art Therapist Therapist participates in clinical programs and interdepartmental activities within the organization. They also function as a clinical instructor in the student affiliation program, and serve as a resource to other staff members in clinical and/or administrative areas.The Behavioral Health Art Therapist uses subjective and objective data to complete assessments and formulate patient problems. Develops written plan of care which is supported by assessment data. It is updated as patient condition changes.The Behavioral Health Art Therapist implements goal oriented plan of care. Therapists actions and patient response are clearly documented. Begins discharge planning at time of assessment. Initial plan of care reflects potential discharge needs.The Behavioral Health Art Therapist in collaboration with the Registered Nurse provides, structures and maintains a therapeutic environment. Facilitates select groups as assigned, provides appropriate AT interventions including group and individual therapy. Reports outcomes to the Registered Nurse. Supports patients treatment goals and objectives. Selects the most appropriate therapeutic equipment or treatment modality to achieve desired outcomes.The Behavioral Health Art Therapist completes patient assessments, progress notes, monthly summaries, D/C summaries, patient education record, and treatment team round reports as per policies and procedures. Records patient information accurately and timely in all automated patient care systems and on other documentation tools and forms.The Behavioral Health Art Therapist demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with professional and regulatory requirements.The Behavioral Health Art Therapist manages patients in a responsible manner to meet their safety, comfort and hygiene needs. Communicates with the Registered Nurse regarding safety, comfort and hygiene measures.The Behavioral Health Art Therapist responds to psychiatric emergencies throughout the hospital.The Behavioral Health Art Therapist understands that patient needs impact staffing and willingly accepts delegated tasks and/or assignment changes to ensure patient care needs and safety are maintained.The Behavioral Health Art Therapist takes ownership of their environment and ensures that the therapeutic workshop area is maintained safe and clean with all furnishings and equipment functioning properly. Ensures that all sharp items are securely locked. Utilizes sharps log to keep track of all sharp items located in the therapeutic workshop area.What qualifications you will need:

On-call therapist, primarily needed on Sundays and Mondays from 8 am to 2 pmMasters Degree Required preferably in Art Therapy and be a registered Art Therapist (ATCD).Psychiatric Experience PreferredBilingual preferred (Spanish)HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital.
