In 2022, the Federation granted and loaned more than $245 million, making it the single largest funder of Jewish causes in the state of California.The Federation is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual with a variety of skill sets who wants to join a team working to build a new model of 21st century and next generation Federation engagement.ROLE SUMMARYWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Marketing, Brand to join our team. This role will be pivotal in crafting and conveying our brand story, developing, and executing content strategies, and creating compelling written content that resonates with our audience. The ideal candidate is a master storyteller with a strategic mindset and a passion for branding. This role focuses both on individual contributions as well as directing a broader team as a key brand steward and content strategy lead, with significant collaboration across various functions within the organization. A brand warrior with campaign development experience is preferred.Requirements:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSBrand Storytelling:Develop and articulate the brand's story, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels.Craft narratives that connect emotionally with our target audience and reinforce our brand values and mission.Oversee the implementation of brand guidelines and ensure all content aligns with the brand voice and tone.Design and implement a comprehensive content strategy that supports overall marketing goals.Identify key content themes and topics that will engage our audience and drive brand awareness.Plan and manage brand/content strategy across content calendars, ensuring creation and delivery of high-quality strategic content across all platforms.Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration:Work closely with internal cross-functional partners to understand the organization's services and offerings. Lead account director relationship with client partners.Communicate the brand vision and strategy to stakeholders and ensure it is understood and embraced across the organization.Develop a strategic and balanced content strategy that highlights organizational priorities.Facilitate effective communication and alignment between marketing and other departments to ensure cohesive messaging.Content Creation and Writing:Produce engaging and high-quality content, including emails, blog posts, op-eds, social media, reports, and more.Collaborate with cross-functional departments to develop a content strategy and campaign strategy that supports their needs and goals.Maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all written materials.Performance Measurement:Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of content and branding efforts.Analyze content performance data and use insights to optimize future content strategies.QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIESProven track record of developing and executing successful brand and content strategies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.Demonstrated ability to establish and meet objectives and performance standards.Exhibits a growth and learning mindset.Experience in organizations responding to emergencies, political events, culturally sensitive issues.Experience in Marketing in non-profit industry.Understanding of Jewish community and Jewish values.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on brand storytelling, content strategy, and writing.EMPLOYMENT PRACTICESThe Federation views equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging as the pathway to achieving inclusive excellence and fostering a company culture where everyone can thrive.
