Must have, or be able to obtain, Tier 1 / National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI) background investigation for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).The RoleAs the User Experience (UX) Specialist you are responsible for making products and services usable, enjoyable, and accessible for the end-user. You will be responsible for guiding government clients through our process, incorporating human-centered methods to solve complex user experience challenges. You will plan and execute UX initiatives from discovery through interface design; research, prototyping, iteration, visual design, user and usability testing. You will serve as the voice of the customer and make sure their needs are considered and met within a proposed solution. UX designers participate in all phases of the UX design process—from planning the project and conducting user research to creating high-fidelity, interactive prototypes, and finally, testing them with users. Typical duties include:Conducting UX research to understand user needs and generate ideas to solve their problems.Determining the information architecture of a digital product.Creating user journey maps and devising the best user flow to help users complete their tasks.Designing wireframes and prototypes.Running user testing to see if the design can be improved.Continuously iterating on solutions.We think the goal of a UX designer is to understand how a user interacts with a product and ensure they have the best possible experience. With projects spanning from user interface design to service design. Some of your responsibilities will include:Delivering design work, including discovery artifacts, sketches and rough prototypes, wireframes, UX flows, and high-fidelity prototypesManaging deadlines through teamworkUsing your design skills to make strong typography, layout, and hierarchy choices.Providing design critique, heuristic evaluations, and competitive analysisProviding and receiving mentorship from other designersContributing to design libraries and providing visual design and brand artifactsParticipating in company initiatives and recruiting effortsCreating business development materialsParticipation in all aspects of the discovery process to understand the current state journeys, ecosystem, users, user segments, and stakeholder business needs.Conduct workshops and interviews to help frame problems, define insights, validate hypothesis, and create a compelling experience vision.Conduct user research and effectively translate user needs into an implementable digital experience through wireframes and high and low-fidelity prototypesFoster continuous improvement through testing and iterative designDrive adoptability and usability of experiences developed.Ensure all deliverables across a variety of projects are produced at the highest quality.Required Education, Experience, & Skills:Minimum bachelor's degree Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Resource Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related fields. Certifications in relevant UX software plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.Minimum 5 years of experience specific to the following:Relevant UX software experience.Establish and maintain the vision of the overall user experience across all creative disciplines leveraging human-centered design, information architecture, usability, and other applicable best practices.Aligning deliverables with overall user experience strategies optimizing overall customer and end-user experience across all engagement and interactions.Expertise across standard UX Software.JJR may choose to substitute education with relevant experience.Preferred Education, Experience, & SkillsExceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in multiple methods of visual communication.Familiarity and/or experience working on a scrum team within the Agile delivery framework.Experience in group facilitation, including with groups of senior organizational leaders.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.A deep, natural curiosity and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Ability to be nimble through constant change and unexpected challenges.Self-starter and results-oriented, able to work under minimal mentorship.Application and technology delivery experience.TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGESalary:

In accordance with various state and federal pay transparency regulations, as well as best industry practices, our job descriptions include the salary range we reasonably expect to pay those joining our team, contingent upon little to no training being required. A final salary is subject to several factors, including but not limited to the following: years of experience, education, certification(s), training, specialized skills, responsibilities, etc.The range of pay for this position is $87,000-$132,000Core Benefits:
