Position Overview:

The Associate Director of Patient Marketing is a key member of the brand team and will contribute to the development and implementation of programs to maximize the brand potential. This role will be responsible for contributing to the patient marketing strategy and developing the tactical plan for disease state and branded education.

This role will also work cross-functionally with the Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Compliance, Legal, Business Analytics, external vendors, and patient advocacy groups to deploy impactful tactics supporting patient and caregiver initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement strategies across disease awareness and product promotion to support personal and non-personal promotion for patient audiences.
  • Validate business opportunities, optimize marketing mix for patient and monitor ROI of individual tactics
  • Develop creative briefs; design core consumer brand promotional assets (e.g., websites, brochures, banners, education) and assure brand execution of messaging & strategy
  • Identify critical design elements for initiatives/promotions designed to drive desired patient behavior change
  • Effectively manage and maintain relationships with Agency Partners and oversee patient budget
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement patient experience support programs
  • Provide strategic oversight for the development of the Patient Ambassador Program, including programming strategy, goals and KPIs
  • Identify data gaps and partner cross-functionally to execute patient experience market research and/or advisory boards
  • Ensure execution of marketing activities in compliance with medical, regulatory, and legal requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or related experience. Graduate degree in life sciences preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in pharmaceutical industry required
  • Launch experience in a brand marketing role preferred
  • Experience in hematology/oncology preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Ability to work under pressure and with competing deadlines
  • Ability to appropriately represent the commercial team in all internal and external settings
  • Strong scientific acumen and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to listen actively and synthesize information in a meaningful way
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal and writing) skills with proven ability to present to large and small audience
  • Demonstrate fluency in articulating complex scientific concepts and data
  • Good judgment, ability to adapt and change in a shifting environment
  • Strategic, passionate, self-starter who takes initiative
  • Strong understanding of the laws, regulations and rules governing the pharmaceutical industry
  • Willingness to travel ~30% domestically
