Service Writer

Linder Tire is a third-generation family business, locally owned with deep roots in the community. We are looking for a self-motivated, positive individual who enjoys working with both customers and coworkers to join our team as a full-time Service Writer.
The Service Writer is responsible for providing sales and information to customers seeking tire replacement or repair and automotive mechanical repair services at the front counter.
What You Will Be Doing:

• Answer phone calls, give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals
• Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products or services and evaluate their needs
• Accurately prepare replacement and repair estimates with detailed parts pricing and labor
• Evaluate conditions of each customer's tires for wear patterns, tread depth, alignment and signs of a bad part
• Clearly explain findings to customer and offer recommendations for replacement or repair
• Create work orders in the system
• Maintain a high level of detail accuracy when processing and entering tickets in the computer
• Pull tires if needed and help load or unload deliveries as needed
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to collaboratively work in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Strong computer skills and understanding of recordkeeping and reporting systems
• Vehicle tires and mechanical services store experience required
• Customer service and sales experience desired
• Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for up to 8 hours
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
