POSITION SUMMARY This is a highly independent position responsible for developing/implementing strategies for the purposes of advocacy and increasing brand awareness, promoting/publicizing YTF's service delivery and its impact on communities served, increasing non-grant revenues/sources through building strong collaborativerelationships, donor solicitation and fundraising events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

GENERAL

  • Serves as a model of commitment and adherence to the agency's CORE values
  • Develops, reviews, and provides management reports in accordance with You Thrive Florida, policies andprocedures, government contracts, and/or upon supervisor's request.
  • Uses, follows, and ensures staff compliance with the policies/procedures of You Thrive Florida, including but not limited to Personnel Policies, Occupational Health and Safety policies, payroll policies/practices, etc.
  • Develops public relations strategies to highlight You Thrive Florida's mission, vision and core values for external and internal audiences.
  • Manages relationships with outside vendors as needed.
  • Ensures PR efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term organizational goals.

DONOR RELATIONS - Extensive experience preferred

  • Develops and executes a plan to solicit and attract donors in an effort to increase overall agency profitability.
  • Strong focus on special event planning and coordination with departmental leaders to identify, develop, andpromote events to generate non-grant revenue.
  • Serves as an informed advocate to help build relationships with donors and business partners.

COMMUNITY/MEDIA RELATIONS - Extensive experience preferred

  • Supports agency mission and goals by advocating and raising awareness in communities served regarding challenges faced by the low-income and vulnerable populations.
  • Represents YTF at key community events, collaborations, and any other external functions, which may strengthen the agency's positioning and perception in the community.
  • Supports and manages the implementation of communications strategies through various platforms (i.e., social media, website, etc.)
  • Acts as a media relations conduit when appropriate to include writing press releases and statements,maintaining media lists, radio appearances, and collecting media mentions.
  • Responds to information requests and comments across all social media platforms.
  • Develops communications plans and content including fact sheets, message points, features and social media posts.
  • On an ongoing basis, meets with program leaders to keep up with and identify issues and opportunities to support community relations and social media work.

SPECIAL PROJECTS

  • Oversees monthly food distribution program and volunteer recruitment.
  • Serves as a key participant in the ongoing strategic planning process.
  • Assists the CEO in ensuring consistent brand representation across the entire agency.

GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS - Minimal experience required

  • Acts as an advocate by regularly communicating with a variety of constituencies, to include state and federalelected officials, government agency executives, partner organizations, funders, and members of the media.
  • Tracks key legislative activities which may impact the agency and serves as key primary contact for legislative communications.
NON-ESSENTIAL/SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

Performs any additional duties as directed or assigned by supervisor/CAO, or other Executive level staff, as long as it doesn't conflict with the CAO's directives. Qualifications
JOB STANDARDS

Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in marketing, communications, donor relations, or other similar industry. Preference will be given to candidates with non-profit experience.

Education: Not required but preferred a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Communications, Marketing or other similar field of study.

Licenses & Certifications: Valid Florida driver's license and be insurable by Company's current insurance carrier. Subjectto federal, state and local legal requirements/background checks/clearance, etc.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, & EXPERTISE

Physical Requirements: These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Talking, standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, use of fingers, arms, hands, legs, walking, stretching/reaching, handling, grasping, climbing, bending at the waist, turning, balancing, pushing, pulling, use of depth perception, carrying and lifting (up to 30 lbs.). Good eyesight (correctable) and hearing (correctable) are essential.

Equipment: Computer, facsimile, copy machine, calculator, cell phone, multi-line phone and other small office equipment as necessary.

Skills & Expertise: Ability to work with limited direction. Knowledge of available community resources. Ability tocomplete work with a high degree of accuracy. Skilled in donor solicitation. Ability to evaluate program effectivenessand make prompt decisions as needed for operational improvements. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. ENVIRONMENTAL JOB FACTORS

Job Location: The position is located in the Brooksville Administration Office. However, there may be consideration for the position to be located at another YTF facility throughout the service region. Periodic travel will be required toother counties served in order to fulfill the functions of the position.

Work Environment: Work is performed both individually and in conjunction with others in heat, cold, dust, andoccasionally wet conditions. Regular work may be required in the evenings and/or on weekends. While performing the responsibilities of the position, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the employee will encounter. Office environment and working with others frequently. Working with office equipment is frequent. Occasionally outdoors and operates a vehicle.
