To this end we are building a technology platform that enables fast, sensitive, quantitative, and cost-effective characterization and optimization of genome editing technologies.Starting with our powerful DNA break mapping technology INDUCE-seq, our data-driven platform reveals gene editing off-targets throughout the genome, enabling precise characterisation of how genome editors interact with and alter our genomes. This information is essential for the efficient development of novel genome editing systems, will unlock many new editing targets in the genome and enable life-saving therapies that are safer by design.As an ambitious and fast-paced start-up, Broken String is looking for an experienced Product Manager who is passionate about building solutions that customers love. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams in the UK and US to design, build, and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.ResponsibilitiesTake a leading role in product development teams driving new product introductions.Own the definition of user needs and represent the voice of the customer throughout the development process. Ensure that critical customer needs are met, and proper tradeoffs made between product features, time to market, value capture, and resource use. Conduct VoC and market research activities to translate these insights into actionable product development, marketing, and go-to-market plans.Synthesize a coherent product roadmap based on customer input, business goals, and technology capabilities. Ensure that critical project milestones are delivered on time.Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to refine product positioning and messaging to ensure that it resonates with target audiences, differentiates our solutions, accelerates growth, and aligns with Broken String Biosciences brand narrative.Contribute to the development and execution of go-to-market plans for new product launches and feature updates. Ensure channel readiness and seamless coordination across cross-functional teams.Work with senior leadership team to define product requirements, offering, price, promotions, and discounting guidelines for products and solutions.Oversee the creation of compelling product messaging and positioning that effectively communicates the value proposition of our products to target audiences. Including, the creation of in-depth marketing collateral, product datasheets, case studies, whitepapers, and blog posts, to drive awareness and demand.Oversee the development of sales enablement tools and assist the sales team by providing guidance for product messaging, positioning, objection handling, and identifying target customers. Provide the sales team with the necessary tools, training, and collateral to effectively sell our products, including sales presentations, product guides, and competitive analysis materials.Oversee the product development lifecycle. Leverage analytics and data to drive fact-based decisions. Track and analyze marketing performance to improve campaign execution and product positioning in an agile manner that conveys benefits delivered or pain points addressed by our solutions.Work with manager to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product marketing initiatives and report on progress to leadership.Keys to SuccessPossess a deep understanding of the target market, customer needs, and industry trends.Stay updated on market dynamics and competitive landscape to inform effective marketing strategies.Develop a deep understanding of users, workflows, challenges, competitors, and potential solutions.Handle marketing budgets and allocate resources effectively to increase return on investment and achieve marketing objectives.Take an active role in developing the skills and capabilities of team members. Provide mentorship, feedback, and opportunities for growth to enhance professional development.Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and marketing, to align product strategies, ensure successful product launches, and drive overall business success.Understand key business drivers and have direct interaction with commercial teams and customers.Decisive decision-maker and accountable leader.Skills And ExperienceBachelor’s degree or higher in Biological Sciences or related field, MBA is a plus.Minimum 3-8 years of hands-on experience with Product Management in the life science research tools markets.Domain expertise in cell biology and gene editing, next-generation DNA sequencing, and/or the pharmaceutical product development process.Record of accomplishment of successful contributions to product development and commercialization activities.Demonstrated ability to identify and cultivate KOL and partner relationships.Able to understand complex technical issues and contribute to decision-making in the context of ambiguity and incomplete information.Strong business and financial acumen.High proficiency in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Ambitious self-starter with a positive, upbeat demeanor, with the ability to withstand change and thrive in high-growth environments.Highly collaborative with excellent project management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
