About the Role:
The Marketing team at PitchBook is critical to fueling the company’s growth by utilizing a variety of strategies to support our Sales and Customer Success departments grow and retain our client base. The Marketing department is responsible for all demand-generation efforts by executing engaging campaigns, effective product marketing strategies, and attending client and trade-show events. The Marketing team is also responsible for promoting the PitchBook brand and managing internal communications.
The Product Marketing Team at PitchBook is instrumental in driving new business and customer demand through hyper-targeted product positioning, differentiated value props, and segment specific messaging. The Product Marketing Manager will support our Private Equity & Investment Banks segments. They will be responsible for the full-funnel strategy and execution of product-centric marketing strategies that capture and will be a core driver of our multi-channel go-to-market motion, influence the product roadmap with customer and competitive insights, and orchestrate the production of compelling content and enablement across Sales, Marketing, Communication, Enablement, Learning & Development, and our inhouse research.
The Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Private Equity & Investment Banks
will intimately know their customers, the market, and our business to define and communicate a clear, differentiated, defensible, and monetizable market position. The ideal candidate will display extreme ownership, be adept at stakeholder management across Marketing, Product, and the field, and be confident in prioritization. This position requires a data-centric and savvy marketer who utilizes their subject matter expertise of their vertical and continually tests, learns, and collaborates across functions to find new and innovative ways of reaching target audiences through compelling messaging, building pipeline, and expanding revenue through high-impact and competitive positioning. The ideal candidate has intimate knowledge of how Private Equity firms and/or Investment Banks work and SaaS product marketing experience.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Help manage and coordinate product launches, ensuring successful execution impact in the market
Build and maintain ongoing collaboration with Product Management to inform product roadmap, launch prioritization, and field responses
Define and communicate compelling product positioning and messaging that resonates with target customers and differentiates our products in the marketplace
Be the segment SME, incorporating the voice of your customer, internal expertise, and pipeline analytics
Continually refine and optimize segment strategy inclusive of messaging, product positioning, content, and campaign prioritization
Develop, implement, and optimize your segment(s)'s messaging framework(s); create and maintain relevant solutions architecture, value prop messaging, hero content, and research
Own segment’s bill of materials while creating and continually refining core artifacts to be used across the company to inform architecture hierarchy, positioning, messaging, personas, and competition
Develop and execute go-to-market (GTM) plans for new product launches and sales programs (target customer segments, positioning strategies, messaging frameworks)
Support the ongoing GTM marketing strategy for segments; partner with GTM Campaigns, Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and Editorial teams to align on ideal messaging, product priorities, and positioning approach
Use defined product/solution-based messaging framework and corresponding buyer challenges to segment target audiences and guide in-market program strategy, ensuring the most relevant and optimal path to conversion
Build and maintain close partnerships with the broader Marketing organization (GTM Campaigns, Web, Digital, Marketing Ops,
Program Management and Content Strategy) to leverage the available channel mix and partner on decisions to achieve target KPIs
Use customer feedback and market research to gain insights into customer needs to inform GTM strategies and the product roadmap
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Training & Enablement, and our Product Content Studio to develop effective sales plays, training materials, and collateral to tell a value-based story using customer proof points – all of which support the selling process
Work closely with Sales and Customer Success leaders on shared pipeline goals and refine messaging and value prop as needed to drive differentiation, relevance, and achieve revenue targets
Conduct in-depth competitive analysis to understand the market landscape, identify opportunities and trends, and mitigate potential threats
Discover new opportunities for your customer segments through market research, test and learn of past campaigns, promotion of new product, and service features
Monitor industry trends and stay up to date on new competitors, technology, and techniques, especially those specific to your customer segments
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
6+ years of B2B product marketing experience, SaaS preferred
Financial services industry experience with exposure to the capital markets is a plus, specifically in the private equity or investment banking fields
Proven track record of implementing return-on-investment positive, growth-oriented demand generation programs
Top-notch analytical skills with a proven ability to work through data and multiple attribution models to find opportunities and actionable insights and clearly communicate to a diverse set of stakeholders
Work cross functionally, building strong relationships to effectively partner across marketing teams and with leaders from Sales,
Product, and Operations organizations to obtain shared success
Experience setting and measuring KPIs, managing a budget, forecasting, and delivering on monthly goals of spend
Proficiency in marketing automation tools (preferably Marketo), CRM (preferably Salesforce.com) web analytics, and business intelligence (preferably Tableau)
A strong strategic thinker with the ability to translate quantitative and qualitative data/insights into strong marketing strategies and a highly organized “doer,” with a data-driven mentality and a bias toward action
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong sense of urgency and follow-through
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, results oriented environment
Desire and ability to be a team player who appreciates a unique, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment
Resourceful self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and adaptive to change
Energetic, friendly, and self-motivated attitude
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation
Annual base salary: $100,775-$170,000
Target annual bonus percentage: 10%
*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.
Working Conditions:
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
