Job Title: Medical Editor

Location: US Based Remote

Hours/Schedule: 40 hours per week

Compensation: $28 to $38/hr

Type: Contract 7/29/2024 - 12/29/2024

Responsibilities

Edit consumer-facing articles to incorporate medical reviewer comments. Article are 2-3 pages, typically < 5 min read.

Focus of articles include an overview of a condition (risk factors through treatment) or a specific part of the care journey (e.g., diagnosis, treatment, risk reduction, diagnostic test/procedure, treatment procedure, medication).

May require referencing reputable publicly available sources to verify information.

Incorporate edits into documents provided in MS Word format (.docx), written in consumer-appropriate language (reading level target - 7th grade)

Provide guidance to other staff to identify appropriate imagery (photo or other graphic) for the article

Maintain tracking sheet of article assignments

Requirements

Experience writing or editing consumer health education material for a U.S. audience

3+ to 5 years experience

Peer to peer review experience
