WC+A is a Los Angeles-based creative and design agency providing services in entertainment creative, multi-platform design packages, digital advertising strategy, key art design, print, out-of-home, photo and video content production, brand campaign ideation, and production.
What We’re Looking For
WC+A is looking for a full-time Creative Director, A/V & Motion Graphics, to join our growing team. This Director will have proven expertise in motion design and audio-visual content, with extensive experience working with clients of various industries. You will help drive revenue growth for the company and consistently raise the bar for creative development across your team. This role will report directly to the CEO.
How You’ll Contribute
Direct the development and execution of all work done by the Motion and A/V team and other creative verticals, from conception to delivery (including creative editorial, sound design, motion design, and color grading)
Lead and mentor the Motion and A/V team, strengthening and supporting an already strong and robust group
Live and breathe the mission statement and team vision put forth by team members
Kickoff, guide, and strengthen integrated creative output across all projects alongside our VP, Strategy
Encourage fresh, innovative ideation, pushing boundaries in our creative storytelling
Be able to translate the language of art direction to various stakeholders
Drive creative and lead teams that design and generate client assets, ensuring they are strategically sound, brand-appropriate, and aligned with the client’s overall creative approach and strategy
Quickly grasp brand guidelines and identity of clients, and lead teams that maintain style guides, art assets, and graphics standards (and related documentation)
Identify opportunities for building or improving on client relationships
Identify efficiencies within our current processes
Evaluate the look and feel of assets used in client campaigns and properties and provide feedback when requested
Meet with company leadership to facilitate growth, account efficiencies, and opportunities
Meet with clients (in person or remotely)
Proactively problem-solve with the team and have impeccable follow-through
Motivate team members to stay apprised of current design trends and video and motion graphics technology, and share your own insights with all members of the company
Evaluate and formulate programs to improve and upskill our creative talent

Who You Are
10+ years of experience in motion, video production, and graphic design, preferably with 5+ years in an integrated design agency setting
Relevant agency experience in concepting/ideation, art direction, and on-the-box motion design
Masterful proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop, and others
Experience in Cinema 4D and sound design
Great written and verbal communication skills are vital to interact with internal partners such as project, account, and creative teams
Ability to interact and engage with clients when required
Ability to explain, sell (and occasionally defend) your ideas while remaining open to feedback and constructive criticism is essential
Being agile in management tools
Creativity, adaptability, and marketing knowledge are required
Extremely comfortable with all Google Workspace programs (Gmail, Drive, Meet, etc.)
Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Is detail-oriented, has good follow-through, can multitask, and works well under tight deadlines
Multilingualism is a plus
Ability to be mentored and growth mindset
Aptitude with managing different projects in parallel
Ability to approach a problem from multiple viewpoints
Ability to work through problems with a team that values collaboration and feedback
Ability to think beyond the task at hand and identify blockers and improvements

Compensation Expectations:
The starting base compensation range for this position in the selected city is $140,301 - $189,819 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s certifications, location, prior experience, and qualifications.
We benchmarked this position against the Creative Director role, which closely resembles the level and responsibilities of this role for the Los Angeles area in 2024.
