The Marketing and Communications Manager plays a critical role in the School of Education. The new manager will be responsible for partnering in the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies across a variety of channels to support the Schools goals and objectives relating to student recruitment, retention, and engagement.
We are looking for someone with relevant experience and a creative and collaborative spirit.
The search committee is particularly interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (in any field).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Five or more years experience in communications, recruitment, marketing, public relations, social media management, journalism, or a related field.
Core Job Duties:
Serve as the marketing and communication lead for the School of Education, which includes:
• Develop and lead the implementation of a comprehensive marketing and recruitment plan for the School of Education, inclusive of all undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Identify new and diverse markets for program promotion and proactively lead recruitment outreach (including in-person and online meetings) to schools, agencies, and organizations.
• Develop text for advertisements and email campaigns and coordinate placement and distribution with the University Communications and Marketing team and the School of Education graduate admissions coordinator.
• Serve as the School of Education liaison with the University Communications and Marketing team to support all marketing efforts, including the creation and execution of timelines for projects, the development and design of marketing materials (postcards, fliers, program sheets, etc.), the implementation of paid search and social media campaigns, and the management of the budget to support this work.
• Manage the School of Education website and social media presence, including updating the website to ensure it is accurate, accessible, and visibly appealing; writing and publishing articles in the news section of the website to promote programs and highlight faculty, staff, and programs; maintaining a media/photo library for the School of Education; organizing photo sessions; and developing content for the School of Education social media channels.
