POSITION SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible the developing and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans and overall marketing components.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions.
  • Supervises Assistant Marketing Directors, Marketing Administrative Assistant, Player Development Managers, Database Supervisor, Entertainment Coordinators, and NL Sales Associate.
  • Development of yearly marketing and promotional plans.
  • Assists Gaming Director with development of 5 year plan.
  • Monitors implementation of promotions and special events.
  • Implements and manages marketing plan.
  • Evaluates advertising and media purchases.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of marketing efforts and promotions.
  • Monitors direct mail strategies.
  • Analyzes monthly reports.
  • Prepares reports.
  • Responsible for direct media purchase and placement.
  • Creates and implements short and long term goals.
  • Assists with ensuring that budgets remain within guidelines.
  • Recommends formulation of new reports that will assist with marketing decisions and expenditures.
  • Develops strategies to increase sales of meeting rooms and hotels.
  • Attends chamber, public relations events and other off sight events on a periodic basis.
  • Makes recommendations that will make the casino properties a leader in the industry.
  • Answers questions about casino operations within compliance of confidentiality and if unable to, then refers to staff members who can.
  • Maintains Weekly payroll, financial reports, employment activity records and other requested reports for management.
  • Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  • Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  • Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  • Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of Gaming Personnel Policy/Procedures, Federal, Tribal and contract regulations and Internal Controls.
  • Knowledge of modern techniques for budget development and administration.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and develop team members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to negotiate conflict effectively.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Physically capable of sitting for long periods of time.
  • Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations or a related field
Education Preferred: Master's Degree
Experience: Five or more years related experience, preferably in casino marketing

A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirement.

Computer Skills: Must have strong computer skills
Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
