Social Networks - ULWR - 1@50%For information about class size, please refer to the LSA GSI Class Size policy here: LSA GSI Class Size Policy.Responsibilities Duties for these positions include, but are not limited to: Attend course lectures (3 hours/week) Read all assigned course readingsTeach 3 x 1-hour discussion sections each week. (ULWR will teach 2 x 1-hour discussion sections each week.)Hold weekly office hours and/or individual meeting times to address student questions.Participate in weekly teaching team meetingsAssist in the preparation of course materialsGrade and provide constructive feedback on papers, exams, quizzes, assignments, and projectsGSIs who have not previously done so are required to complete the CRLT GSI teaching Orientation before classes startFirst-time GSIs will be required to register for COMM 993.COMM 306 and 370 are Upper Level Writing Courses. First-time ULWR GSIs are required to register for WRITING 993. If you have taught an ULWR in the past, you do not need to re-register for WRITING 993Required Qualifications To be appointed as a GSI or GSSA, a graduate student must be in good standing in their degree program and for Terms I and II, must be registered for not less than six (6) credit hours. Committee members include the Associate Chair of Graduate Studies, the Student Services Manager, the Graduate Program Coordinator, and if needed the Chair.All applications will be submitted for review.
