About our Team

Our team publishes journals within Health and Medical Sciences, as part of our larger Science, Technology and Medical Publishing group. We are a dynamic, inclusive, and creative group of publishing enthusiasts, working collaboratively across the business and with researchers and clinicians to ensure our journals are best in their subject area, and that we offer the highest level of service to authors, editors, reviewers, and readers.

About the Role

As a Publisher, you'll take responsibility for a portfolio of Elsevier and society journals in health and medical sciences. Acting as the business owner of the portfolio of journals. Taking strategic lead of the program’s direction, identifying, and acting on opportunities. (For launching and acquiring more journals). You have enthusiasm to build and maintain a network of relationships within the community. The role requires travel three to four weeks annually based on customer needs.

Responsibilities

Acting as the business and strategic owner for the portfolio. Focusing on content growth, quality, and achieving a balance of subscription and open access articles.

Building influential relationships with other Elsevier colleagues to help drive creativity and new product development.

Managing external networks through travel and increasingly digital channels.

Renewing and negotiating editorial and society contracts.

Participating in projects and pilots of new products, services or business models to explore and drive innovation.

Keeping up-to-date with trends in Scientific, Technical & Medical publishing to maintain awareness and keep stakeholders informed of developments

Requirements

Have a secondary college Education (and have exceptional Scientific-Technical-Medical publishing experience.

Be a natural communicator with an ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Have a can-do attitude and team-oriented approach are essential for success in this role.

Show the ability to be a self-starter and flexible to adapt to changing priorities.

Enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver successful initiatives.

Be able to build relationships with stakeholders, teams, and our community.

Able to identify and understand market needs for potential business opportunities.

Have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy discovering new technologies and online developments.
