Job Description

Trek is looking for an experienced Packaging Designer to help take our retail packaging to the next level. In this role, you will be responsible for both graphic and form design. You will bridge the gap between design and engineering by creating, testing, and implementing packaging systems that satisfy operational requirements while providing consumers with a best-in-class unboxing experience. We are looking for someone with a strong portfolio of work who is passionate about design and sustainability.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Product Development, Design, Engineering, Warehouse, Marketing, and Retail teams to understand the product, merchandising, and operational needs

Use our prototype lab to create and test packaging samples, and gather feedback from cross-functional teams

Research, develop, and present packaging solutions that protect the product through global distribution, provide a great customer experience, meet cost targets, and have a strong consideration for sustainability

Create and translate product graphics onto packaging dielines using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Produce assembly instructions for product suppliers to successfully package products

Communicate daily with global suppliers

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or Industrial Design

Preference to candidates with strong graphic design skills and/or experience with folding carton dieline design

Minimum 5 years full-time experience in Packaging or Industrial design

Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop abilities; CAD skills are beneficial

Detailed knowledge of packaging materials, production processes, and specifications

Excellent organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills; thorough attention to detail

Eagerness to learn new tools, software, skills, and about Trek products

NOTE: Serious candidates MUST present a well-rounded portfolio demonstrating graphic and packaging design experience
