We are looking for an Embedded Multimedia Engineer to help design, develop, integrate our next generation devices. In this role you will work with customers, system architects, program managers and hardware engineers to design, development, and unit test Codec/display/camera/graphics drivers and
middleware. You will perform feature development, driver integration, debugging and bug fixing.
Key job responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C code
Debug and troubleshoot issues in the Kernel drivers, BSP and integration with OS frameworks.
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to problems found in the product integration and field
Develop and implement a wide range of low-level embedded software (including kernel device drivers, network stack development, porting existing software to new embedded platforms, and other low-level programming activities), hardware development, as well as the development of application software
Develop and customize BSP, graphics, and port
Develop, port, and test software and firmware layers inside the Linux Kernel and frameworks.
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Develop and maintain technical documentation.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members
Participate in code and design reviews

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Excellent programming skills in C, C+- Linux (Yocto) and Android device driver experience
Experience in Multimedia frameworks like GStreamer
Experience in embedded Linux user space and kernel development
Experience in GDB, KDB, Trace
Experience with one or more of Camera, Display, Codec, or Graphics development
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
CAMERA:
Experience with camera and image pipelines (Histogram, 3A algorithms, Color
Correction, image formats etc.)
Media Controller (Open Source) and V4L2
Experience in CSI2
DISPLAY:
DRM/KMS, Kernel Drivers
HDMI, MIPI DSI protocol,
DSI Panels
Display picture quality (White Balance, Histogram, Color correction, image
formats etc.)

CODEC:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
