Job Description

LinkedIn Marketing Solutions (LMS) team is building the next generation of ads serving infrastructure and applications to fuel our massive multi-billion dollars ads business and scale. LinkedIn Audience Network (LAN) is one of the most critical teams within LMS responsible for a major portion of revenue and customer ROI impact. The team is responsible for building RTB (Real Time Bidding) products and infrastructure that enables B2B advertisers to reach professional audiences at scale, anywhere across the internet on trusted websites, applications and devices including Connected TV. This includes building large scale, high QPS, low latency applications and supporting infrastructure to scale product features, machine learning models and experimentation with very tight real-time serving SLAs.

As an Engineering Manager on LAN you will be responsible for helping us build, scale and optimize LAN supply across all our Ad exchange partners, RTB Infrastructure and RTB Data Privacy. You will also be responsible to work closely with the Marketing Identity Team within LMS to materialize LinkedIn’s marketing identity vision for B2B advertising. The ideal candidate will be excited at the challenge to transform and think critically on many disciplines including product and system design, usability, business impact, scaling performance, and 24x7 reliability. You will directly impact LinkedIn’s core four, including revenue and accountability margin by leading one of the fastest growing products contributing to initiatives like Connected TV, Supply Growth and influencing multiple XFN teams along the way.

Responsibilities:

· You will manage the performance and career development of a small team of engineers, and own significant parts of LinkedIn products that require design, architecture, and coding.

· You will participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology roadmap.

· You will be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.

· You will work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack.

· You will manage teams to scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, review code, and deliver with speediness and quality.

· You will develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.

· You will produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.

Basic Qualifications:

· BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

· 1+ years of experience in software engineering/technical management and people management.

· 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering

· Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages(like Java/Python/C/C++/Scala/etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

· 2+ years of experience in managing Ad Tech engineering teams, Ideally with exposure to Real Time Bidding (RTB)

· MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline

· 2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience

· 7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.

· 5+ years programming experience in languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Go, etc.

· Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available, scalable web applications

· Understanding of common performance patterns and anti-patterns in distributed systems

· Successful track record of managing small teams of engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality

· Active involvement in the creation and execution of technical strategies and roadmaps

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $147,000 - $240,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
