The Best Players Need the Best People.This position focuses on the PR and promotion for players and tournaments on the PGA TOUR to increase media exposure and coverage. Duties include travel to 15-18 PGA TOUR events (lead at 5-7), serving as liaison between players, agents, media and media partners and supporting PR-messaging/media/crisis communications efforts of tournament organizers and title sponsor. Additional duties include support of TOUR- and department-wide initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalismMinimum 5 years experience in communications or public relations, preferably with a sports or entertainment organization, and close exposure to mediaPrior golf tournament or sports event experience combined with a solid understanding of the game and industryStrong communication skills, including public speaking and the ability to communicate effectively within diverse groups of people in a fast-paced environment; critical to be able to work as part of a team; ability to identify and manage crisis situationsExcellent writing and editing skills, with a strong attention to detail; analytical acumen a plusAbility to work off hours and weekends due to the nature of the positionStrong time-management skills and the ability to balance office work with travel among both individual and team-oriented tasksAbove all, the ability to conduct self in a professional manner at all times, specifically in the presence of athletesRESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Perform on-site media official duties at 15-18 PGA TOUR events (lead at 5-7), serving as liaison between players, agents, media and media partners and supporting PR/media/crisis communications efforts of tournament organizers and title sponsorParticipate in weekly Storytelling meetings and share key competitive storylines with larger group to help spur content ideas for upcoming eventsCultivate relationships with traditional golf media to foster positive PGA TOUR coverage and additional storylines as they develop; pitch PGA TOUR narratives and storylines in local markets and message and identify opportunities for players to support those storylines within the mediaSupport of TOUR"s new ventures promotional efforts and department-wide initiatives including Catalyst and Media Partner support for player participation for telecastsInterface regularly with other departments including Tournament Sponsor Relations, Tournament Business, Domestic and International Broadcast and Rules and Competitions.Manage assigned special projects as neededOversee fulfillment of informational statistics requests from media, tournaments, television, etc.Maintain and uphold PGA TOUR standards and styles across the Communications Department and other TOUR teams
