The

Strategic Communications and Policy Analyst

will supporting U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP), Field Operations Facilities (FOF), and is responsible for the development of various communications deliverables such as strategic briefs, reports, papers, policies, and procedures. This position regularly interacts with OFAM senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

Provide communication, outreach, and stakeholder support; including developing responses to

both external and internal taskers

Develop and manage communications and stakeholder outreach plan

Prepare a variety of written materials in response to inquiries from senior management, other

Federal agencies, and Congress, such as strategic briefs, issue papers, fact sheets, ready-tosend emails, congressional inquiry responses, newsletters, and other reporting mechanisms

Prioritize assignments and duties, while managing multiple priorities simultaneously

Monitor projects within assigned area of responsibility to inform leadership as needed and ensure

priorities, issues, and risks are communicated clearly

Analyze issues and risks, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions,

and implement recommendations in support of goals

Analyze emerging priorities and develop policies and procedures as needed

Incorporate charts and graphics into various documents using graphic design skills

Prepare and/or deliver briefings and training presentations

Produce monthly newsletters, reports, and other collateral documents

Work efficiently in Microsoft SharePoint, managing updates and developing various pages, forms,

and capabilities for the PMO

Perform other related duties needed to achieve VPD and/or customer mission success

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.

10+ years of relevant experience in performing management consulting, communications, and policies activities

Proven track record in multifunctional project team leadership, data analysis, problem solving, process improvement, and negotiation

Strong computer skills and working knowledge of related software applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, One Note, Publisher, Visio, MS Teams, SharePoint, Internet Explorer, and Adobe Pro

Strong communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Strong and confident presentation and public speaking skills

Travel required, likely less than 10% but could vary dependent upon business demands

Must be able to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Security clearance experience with federal government contracting

U.S. Citizenship required

Desired Qualifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Experience with graphic design software such as Visio or Adobe
