Job Summary:

Reporting to VP of Strategic Initiatives, the

Senior Audio-Visual Project Consultant

must live in or relocate to Richmond, VA for the duration of the project (approximately 2.5 years). This role will manage the on-site coordination between design, construction and systems installation teams on a large corporate headquarters new construction project. Considered applicants must have significant AV/IT and construction installation/high-end workplace technology installation experience. This role will work on-site 3-5 day days and remotely from your home office when not at the site. Relocation assistance or corporate housing assistance consideration for non-local candidates.

Responsibilities:

Lead the technical oversight of project teams in the deployment and verification of technology systems (AV/IT/Security) and associated infrastructure for new building construction and renovation projects.Take ownership of projects and the processes. Challenge ideas and find ways to improve work products and processes.Provide technical oversight of the deployment of technology systemsVerify the deployment and proper functioning of technology systems at client locations and offsite staging facilitiesAssist the project team with project delivery, including meeting preparation and participation, report writing, and general coordinationProvide regular project updates and reporting to owner. This will typically include lists of non-compliant items identifying relevant dates and responsible parties.Provide consultation and education to all levels of end users on presentation technologies including involvement with client training and initial technical supportBuild relationships that ensure successes for both internal and external teamsTroubleshoot audiovisual and videoconferencing related technologyMaintain understanding of current and new technologyPursue ongoing professional growth and development of technical skillsAssist and contribute to the Waveguide community

Qualifications:

A minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant professional experience managing professional AV/IT projects, preferably as an independent consultantFour-year or higher degree in a relevant technical field (BSEE)AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist in Design or Installation (CTS-D, CTS-I )In addition, project experience with a $2 to $5 million AV budget, experience with multi-year deployments, and international project experience is desiredAbility to manage multiple projects and deliverables and shift priorities as necessaryExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong understanding of commercial/institutional AV technology applications and operations, including audio systems, video display technology, audio/video teleconferencing, digital signage, AV signal management and integrated controlUnderstanding of commercial/institutional building design and construction, including understanding of typical building systems (i.e. HVAC, electrical, lighting, building controls, security, etc.)Strong computer skills with proficiency in all MS Office applicationSuitable environment for audio and video calls3 to 5 days per week anticipated on project sites. 75% (Richmond, VA) local projects vs. 25% domestic air travel
