Technical Leadership and Support:

Identify and implement cutting-edge technical solutions between Scopely’s central technology teams and external development studios.Establish technical best-practices for an at-scale live operations gaming including server orchestration, release management, social systems, matchmaking, and more.Partner with external development studios to establish technical benchmarks and goal-setting for performance metrics to ensure the game meets quality standards.

Strategic Planning:

Identify gaps in technical architecture and develop strategies to address them, from internal development to external vendor partnerships.Advocate for investments aligning with Scopely's future goals in cross-platform games and technical requirements for live-service, competitive multiplayer titles.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Product Management, Game Design, Analytics, LiveOps, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, and other teams to ensure seamless integration with our publishing infrastructure.Oversee implementation of tools empowering our Live Ops & Game Design teams to create engaging experiences.

Drive Innovation

Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging expertise to drive continuous improvement and innovation.Contribute to building a culture of innovation and excellence within the engineering team, pushing boundaries for best-in-class technical solutions.

Team Development:

Contribute to building and mentoring a team of talented engineers, providing guidance and support as they tackle complex technical challenges.Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration, empowering the team to deliver high-quality results.

What We’re Looking For

7+ years experience as a software engineer4+ years of technical leadership experience, building and managing high-performing software engineering teamsExperience in developing backends and servers for large-scale, real-time multiplayer games with best-in-class technical infrastructuresExperience developing tools and technologies for LiveOps and product management (e.g. running in-game economies, events, etc.)C++ and C# experienceBroad knowledge of different architectures and how they apply to specific goals (e.g. CPU performance, efficient data storage or code understandability etc.)Pragmatic and sustainable approach to programming and creating extensible and maintainable high performance codeSolid Linux skills (Bash, working with log files, monitoring IO etc.)Ability to write efficient low-latency and low-IO codeExperience working with Redis, ORMs and migration scriptsExperienced in developing and deploying large-scale web servicesSolid understanding on how to prevent intrusions, injections, cheating etc.Be a gamer
