The Design Director will be part of a collaborative team that will define the overall direction of Forza Motorsport. You will lead the strategy and direction of key gameplay features and experiences that will delight our players for years to come.

The role requires knowledge of design principles, creative processes, systemic design, and player motivations. Knowledge of and passion for motorsport, racing, vehicle dynamics, and car culture are also desired.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver genre leading features, experiences, and innovation in core gameplay that delight and engage our players.Design and deliver systems and structures that build and cultivate a dynamic, healthy, and inclusive competitive racing community.Collaborate, inspire, and lead a multi-disciplinary feature team with internal development resources.Be a passionate, data driven advocate of the needs and motivations of the player, content creator, and viewer.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Art, Game Design, or related field AND 6+ years relevant internship/work experience (e.g., game development and design, or systems design)

OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Art, Game Design, or related field AND 6+ years related work experience (e.g., game development and design, or systems design)OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Art, Game Design, or related field AND 4+ years related work experience (e.g., game development and design, or systems design)OR equivalent experience.

1+ year(s) of experience building successful game systems.

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

3+ years working in a design capacity on at least 1 shipped AAA title.Experience leading a design or feature team through all phases of development from concept to ship.Comprehensive understanding of player psychology and gaming motivations.Knowledge of physics and vehicle dynamics.Experience in competitive or social multiplayer features.Interest in shaping the future of automotive entertainment.

Game Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
